Education City Stadium

Nicknamed the Diamond in the Desert, Education City Stadium sits on the Qatar Foundation campus in Al Rayyan, roughly 7 km northwest of central Doha. Opened in June 2020 as the third completed FIFA World Cup 2022 venue, it was designed by Pattern Design with engineering by Buro Happold and received a five-star GSAS sustainability rating.

During the 2022 World Cup the stadium staged eight matches, including the Round of 16 tie between Morocco and Spain, which set its attendance record of 44,667. It has since hosted AFC Asian Cup fixtures and selected Qatar national team games, with plans to reduce seating to around 25,000 for Education City university teams. Qatar Foundation now presents the venue, run in partnership with QNB, as a hub for women's and girls' sport and community activities. Contact is handled through Qatar Foundation's main line and email.
