About this business
Indian Supermarket, trading today as New Indian Supermarket, is a long-running grocery store on Al Matar Street in Doha's Old Airport (Matar Qadeem) district. Established in 1972, it is described as one of the first supermarkets in Qatar, and the same group has since grown the Retail Mart hypermarket chain, with outlets in Al Wakrah, Mesaieed, Barwa Al Baraha, the Industrial Area and Madinat Khalifa.
The Old Airport store is listed as open 24 hours and serves thousands of customers daily. Its speciality is Indian and South Asian groceries: fresh vegetables arrive regularly from India, and the shelves carry a wide selection of well-known Indian food brands, along with meat, poultry and fish. Imports come in by both air and sea freight to keep stock fresh. Shoppers can visit in store, use curbside pickup or order for delivery, including via the Talabat app, and the group shares promotions through its social media pages.
